Dog Lovers—How Spoiled is your dog?

rokkibean asked:

Is your dog treated more like the pet they are or like a little human? If your dog is one of the spoiled/pampered ones what kinds of spoiled behaviors does it have?
Does your dog get jealous if it isn’t the center of attention….give me your stories—brag your babies/pets up….
My dog, for instance, gets very jealous and protective if anyone touches me. My family and friends will go to give me a hug and Leo is right there trying to squeeze between our legs and force us apart and barking most of the time (and it is amazing how good he is at it–he is a Boston Terrier so he’s not that large).

My dog has shoes to but they are the same as the police dogs wear to protect her feet from glass that frequently appears on the paths by our fields.
My dog likes to jump up on my lap and be cradled like a baby and goes to sleep on my lap. I WILL NOT ever give her anything other than dog treats and dog food and hate people giving her anything human. My dog is spoiled because she hogs my attention and gets loads of fussing for literally hours on end and loads of walks 2 times a day round the feilds for at least half hour. She even has her own web site lol
    sad or what

my yorkie poo is very spoiled. he wears clothes, he eats wutever he wants, he has tons of toys, and thinks everyone that comes to my house comes to play wit him. although my sister lives wit me and she is pregnant, i’m hoping all the attention the baby gets won’t make him jealous.

My dog is pretty spoiled. Since I’m at college, my room is pretty much his now. He sleeps on my bed and does whatever he wants. On his last birthday I let him eat a little vanilla ice cream. I taught him how to eat off a spoon. I pretty much let him do whatever.

I have 2 dogs, a german shepherd/dingo cross and a maltese/pekinese cross. They are both fairly spoiled as our kids are grown and have their own lives so they’re like our children. They do act like young children too in many ways.
Aztec, the gs/d cross, is a real boy, even though he’s been neutered, so he’s hard to spoil. The only thing he wants is to have his belly rubbed. When he wants a belly rub, he lies on the floor on his back inviting a rub. The other thing he does is he insists on going outside. When he wants to go, he wants to go…….now!
Gizmo, the little m/p cross, is a different one altogether. He always wants attention. When I’m on the net, I’ll lean back in my chair and I’ll have a small animal on my chest. Never misses. When I go to bed he’s there lying next to me asking for a pat. My wife goes to bed he comes back for more. He also has a job of supervising showers and toilet. He’s very jealous. When Aztec gets a pat or belly rub, Gizmo tries to get in the way of any pat, pushing himself under your hand. All in all though, they’re great dogs. They give a lot of love.

i think he’s pretty spoiled. we have a mini dach, and he is our child. we don’t have kids yet, so he gets whatever he wants. he had pancreitis, and we spent $660 on that, noth to mention the other thousands of dollars spent on food, toys, clothes, and vet bills. and he’s only 8 mths old!

so yes, he is spoiled, but he is here to stay. he does get jealous when my hubby gives me a kiss, and he is very protective of the apartment. he’ll growl and bark if he thinks someone is coming into the apartment. he ONLY gets dog food to eat, not human food. i want him to live a long time.

My dogs are so spoiled!! They lay on the couch and they sleep in the bed right between my parents! All my friends think that they shouldn’t be treated like humans so much. I love my dogs and they’re my kids! I love my dogs and they deserve the best.

Our Dog Rudy is more like a child then a dog to us. He is so spoiled. He sits on my hubbies lap and gives him kisses all the time. We also have a cat who is just as spoiled if not more. They do not get along however. We wish they would. But we love them just the same.

Here’s how spoiled my two dogs are….. instead of 1 one hour walk a day they get 2 one hour walks a day. Instead of jumping on the furniture to lay w/ me I lay on the floor w/ them. Instead of jumping on people when they come to the house, they go into the other room and keep themselves amused till they feel it’s time to greet the guest, then they go back to whatever it was they were doing. When a person hugs my g/f or I they get jealous and sit there till the person acknowledges them.

Sarcasm aside, what you are doing to your dog is selfish and should stop immediately. I am not amused by how spoiled your dog is or am I jealous. What you are doing is abusing your dog, you are taking the animal, breed, dog out of him and satisfying your own needs. Trust me when I say; that thing your dog does when he is not the center of your world, that growl or hyper bark, or fit he is throwing is not good for him, and is only causing stress on your dogs “being.” Eventually you will be sorry for the harm you have caused you ANIMAL!

Sorry to have to ruin you fun, but I am sure allot of the more level headed DOG OWNERS feel this way; am I right?

of course my Rottie is spoiled, why else would i have him
He takes up almost the entire bed,& lets us know when it is time to go to bed (he will come get us from the living room, & run back to the bedroom). He has caused me to fall out of bed more than once when he extends his legs
When he feels hes not getting enough attention he grumbles (rottie version of talking) until we talk to him
I know this is stupid, but when i ask him “you want me to pet the doggy” he comes running over & plops in front of me for petting.
He is a gigantic spoiled clown dog & i wouldnt have it any other way

  19. Jessica B on January 6th, 2010 5:14 pm

well well well…. ok let me tell you how bad it is..
first i have to tell you ladie and pup are their names, both pit bulls pup is deaf. ok now i live with my boyfriend, when we moved in together we only had a twin bed…. so me my boyfriend and two 70 lb dogs(and the cats) in a twin bed…. so we thought we would be smart and went and bout a queen bed… then they got used to the room on that bed… well now me and my boyfriend sleep on the twin bed in the same room as the DOGS brand new queen bed. ladie will come up to me at about 4 in the morning and take my pillow and put it on her bed and sleep. pup does the same with the throw that i use on the bed. we take the dogs to pet smart 2 times a week, mon and thursday, we say lets go shopping and they are out in the truck. ladie is my jealous one. she will walk up to anyone who comes over if they havent rubbed her and chomp her teeth, its cute!

  20. Shepherdgirl on January 9th, 2010 10:18 am

That is just so wrong that you allow this behavior. He is not getting jealous he is being territorial he is telling them hands off that is mine. You should correct this problem and I certainly think it is not something that should be bragged about or thought of as funny. Someone, possibly even a child, could get hurt from the behaviors you think of as cute.

my fur babies (both rat terriers, one female and one male) are beyond a doubt SPOILED ROTTEN
in the house they have their own little (childrens) chairs they sit in
in the car they have car seats for safety and know if theyre not buckled up the car wont move
for out and about we bought a twin stroller for them to ride in because of the fact i am in a wheelchair and its easier to have them under control like that
they also have their own blankets and full wardrobes
oh and dont dare call them (whispers here) dogs, theyre babies !
