I was wandering if anybody had any D.I.Y. tips I could use to pamper my outdoor dog alittle bit more now that its the hot summer? I dont think it matters but he is a rottweller beagle mix named peanut.(he was the runt of 16 puppies!)
He has a fairly large dog house,is in a kennal(large), and does not like water at all.(Ive tried a kiddie pool and sprinklers, he doesnt like them. I also cant bring him in the houe because he is not house broken. We are going to get an in-ground fence. Also If you know any tips for aggressive dogs I would appriciate it because he was abused for the first two years of his life and is now aggresive to men.
him being the runt of 16 has nothing to do with it! I am unable to bring him in the house unless you guys want him to rip our cats to shreds and atack family members. I love my dog very much and wish he could be in the house but he cannot!
Excuse me for trying to rescue a dog, but I cannot bring him in!
hes fixed and has all his shots.

I want a dog. I dont know what breed though. I already have a FULL TIME OUTSIDE golden retriever. She never comes in the house. I want A dog light enough to hold, pickup, dress, and pamper. I would be in the house all the time. ( besides bathroom breaks). Any Ideas?

I have a Golden Retriever who will be 10 years old this year. She, typical of a golden, has been a superb pet over the years and very well behaved and mellow. Over the last several months she has begun chewing up my kids’ toys (she favors small plastic pieces and cardboard puzzle pieces) and raiding the pantry. Yesterday she ate two bags of Oreos and a bag of gummy candies. I have since rearranged the pantry so that she can’t reach any food anymore. I give her a nutritious, homemade meal consisting of hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, and sardines every morning and she gets a premium dry dog food each night. She gets walked and petted and talked to frequently throughout the day. She lives indoors with us and I would classify her as being pampered rather than neglected. I don’t understand the behavior change and I am very frustrated. My husband is ready to toss her out, but I don’t believe that pets are disposable–they are like kids as far as I’m concerned. I teach, not toss!
***To clarify, I use a published homemade food diet book for dogs to prepare her meals, and she gets 1 Tablespoon of sardines every morning as directed by the book.

Dog Lovers—How Spoiled is your dog?

Is your dog treated more like the pet they are or like a little human? If your dog is one of the spoiled/pampered ones what kinds of spoiled behaviors does it have?
Does your dog get jealous if it isn’t the center of attention….give me your stories—brag your babies/pets up….
My dog, for instance, gets very jealous and protective if anyone touches me. My family and friends will go to give me a hug and Leo is right there trying to squeeze between our legs and force us apart and barking most of the time (and it is amazing how good he is at it–he is a Boston Terrier so he’s not that large).

My girlfriend and i recently is taking care of a 1 year old pomeranian puppy for a friend ( i use the term, although from my standpoint i cant even call her a friend.) She moved 3 hours away and couldnt have her dog there without a deposit. So my gf and i were asked to take care of the dog under certain specifications because after all this dog was her baby (she even went as far to call the dog her child) . The dog has been neglected all its life. It became apparent the moment he arrived here. he is not even housebroken or trained. He occassionally uses his puppy pads once or twice but then he finds my carpet is fair game. Shedding his hair, pooping, peeing, and even vomitting (again from being neglected his stomach cant handle being fed everyday, cause she would only give him a certain amount of food and water and left him there for weeks in a puppy pen. thus the dog would ration or enter starvation mode. Now That it has adequate supply of food and water is a little overwhelming to his stomach). My “friend” called me and told me to find a good home for the dog since she wasnt gonna be able to keep him at all, thus i searched and found a terrific home where a retired wonderful person could pamper this dog and take care of him all day which is something that she and i cant do. However, here is the big swinger, she decided last night to change the price from free to 350 dollars!!!! thats 50 dollars more than what she paid!!! No one is gonna pay 350 dollars for a 1 year old puppy with no papers (she lost them.) She still has the audacity to say well keep him there someone will buy him eventually. I keep spending money on this dog (water, food, puppy pads, grooming, and vet checkups) and clearly dont have ample time to take care of it but the dog is still of my concern. the poor thing has suffered enough and just needs a good home. What should i do? the dog is not mine to just give away. She wants 350 dollars. Am i actually gonna have to pay her to find her dog a good home despite she treated this dog like crap all its life?
